About Us

Welcome to my humble shop!

Chesapeake Quiltmakers started slowly as a post-retirement idea in 2017 that gained traction in 2020 when the world suddenly needed businesses that made products from fabric.

Like many other quilters, I stepped up making masks and accessories in response to the incredible demand. After making over 1000 masks, at a rate of sometimes 30 per day, I realized the value of having an efficient work process which meant starting with pre-cut materials, and some handy tools & gadgets nearby to help me to be more productive.

Some of these things did not exist at the time, so I used my digital skills to create products like the clamp-on mini ironing board and ruler racks, and pre-cut kits for fast assembly of items like small purses, quilts, and ironing board covers.

After losing access to my fabrication service, I learned to operate CNC, Laser and 3D Printer machines in order to continue my small batch production of quality parts that I use to make my signature products.

The rest of what I offer here in my shop are handy gadgets, patterns, and other various items that I have found useful or just plain fun to make along the way, as well as instructional classes to help you to perfect skills for your 'making' journey.

There are few things more satisfying than making a beautiful hand-crafted gift - and having quality tools & materials makes a difference in the quality of the final product.  Working in a beautiful venue doesn't hurt either...sometimes we create our own 'mini retreats'....just because.

We are part of a large community of makers who love working with our hands and helping others experience the joy of creating. Originally started as a quilting Meetup group,  Chesapeake Quiltmakers and Crafters helps you take your sewing and quilting skills to a whole new level with projects that introduce you to new tools, materials and techniques to make your work easier and faster.

Through our online shop and in-person classes and shows, we present to you our passion, our inspirations, methods, tricks & tips for completing successful projects.

Thank you for visiting and happy making!
